Position: Business Development Manager

About DNA Communications

Founded in mid-2005, DNA Communications (Digital Network Access Communications, Inc.) is an Illinois-based public utility specializing in communications and technology services. Our headquarters in Rochelle, IL, supports a range of services including Internet (via copper and fiber), business and residential phone systems, and managed services such as firewalls, switches, and phones. We serve a diverse clientele across northern Illinois, including businesses, government, education, and commercial sectors, and are actively expanding our reach.

The Role

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll:

  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities for small businesses and enterprise clients.
  • Offer tailored product solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain positive relationships.
  • Introduce and promote our products and services to both new and existing customers.
  • Implement strategic and tactical sales plans.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and manage quota funnels.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture relationships with both new and existing customers to secure strategic positions and retain revenue.
  • Create action plans to cross-sell and up-sell, increasing overall customer spend.
  • Prospect for new customers daily.
  • Identify, bid on, and close new sales opportunities to meet or exceed sales and revenue targets.
  • Provide strategic account plans and strategies to win new business.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of our product suite.
  • Attend Chamber of Commerce events to network and promote our services.


What We’re Looking For

  • At least 1 year of experience in telecom sales.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and formal presentation abilities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.
  • Willingness to spend at least 50% of time on sales activities outside the office.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the telecom/technology industry.
  • Familiarity with Fiber Optics (LIT and Dark) and Managed Services.
  • Experience with PBX Voice systems is a significant plus.
  • Previous outside sales experience is preferred.
